Call me a Luddite, but I've been on the fence about Twitter. I can see its usefulness if there's an interesting or funny or work-related individual or company you want to follow, or a timely topic you want to contribute to, but I don't care if you had a tuna sandwich for lunch. It seems to have exploded suddenly, though it's been around for years. Small and large businesses are using it effectively to communicate with customers, but I haven't been moved to follow those threads yet.

But what if Twitter could come to me instead of me going to it? InsideView recently announced that capability, as a part of its SalesView solution. SalesView is an on-demand content aggregation tool that integrates with several CRM applications: Landslide, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Oracle CRM On Demand, Salesforce.com, SugarCRM, and now, NetSuite (an accounting application with strong CRM capabilities). It pulls data in from roughly 20,000 content sources like Dunn & Bradstreet, Hoover's, and Reuters that its natural language processing engine (it can tell the difference between Apple the company and apple the fruit) thinks will be of interest to you.

And now its new "Buzz tab" includes relevant postings from social media like Twitter and FaceBook. This is a great idea, a perfect partnership, and I'd be one of the first to use the product if I was a CRM user.

SalesView brings in executive profiles from multiple sources and highlights critical relationships. You don't need to employ traditional contact database searches because SalesView connects the dots for you with automated relationship discovery and mapping, the company says. Your lead qualification process can be simplified by SalesView's transparent integration with your CRM solution, and you can filter critical events more effectively.

You get a one-button synch with CRM and a one-button export to MS Excel, both of which can help make your sales process more efficient, says InsideView.

SalesView appears as a window in your CRM application, and updates information in real time. Say you're qualifying a lead. Open SalesView and select a company, and you may find, for example, that the business just lost a product and will be presenting at an upcoming conference. You can then push that information to other areas of your CRM app. A powerful search tool helps you build lists.

SalesView FREE offers limited company watch lists and access to a subset of agents that alerts you to key events and insights related to your prospects. SalesView PRO (starts at $99/month for a single-seat license) offers unlimited company lists and a full library of standard agents, as well as the ability to customize the alerts. SalesView TEAM (starts at $99) adds best practice-sharing.
